um…is anything being done to change the match date to friday? coz Sunday is looking like a forfeit. i would change it if i knew how but i have not a scooby wat to do. lol

rules
C) Teams, by mutual consent, may agree to change the time and/or date of their match. However, the match must be played BEFORE the match was originally scheduled, and both teams must enter the results as normal – within two hours of the scheduled server’s expiration.
so if we want to change it someone better get onto ADA

I wont be available on Friday any more, I may have a backstage part in our upcoming school production – Pirates of Panzance.

Shad's unavailability + other stuff
Re Shad’s unavailbility blog post and other issues.
I only see 3 yes’s on the availability list. This was a forfeit (or a big loss if you can play with 4) well before your laptop died. It would help if people replied with yes’s or no’s. I can see maybe’s, not sure’s, sub’s, and my favorite the one that didn’t even change it from y/n. Anything other than Y/N is not a reply. Do it again please. Anything other than YES, has now been changed to a No.
Also, why do we have 3 pages discussing this games organisation and availability (Rayne’s challenge / repsonse deadline page, this one, and Shad’s availability discussion). Please don’t create a challenge for the response deadline, and then one for the challenge itself. It just creates work for someone to do to clean it up later so the results page doesn’t look retarded. Create one page, and mark the date as the response deadline initially, then once a dates been picked, change the date to that.

I know I’m not involved in season 5, but this is still Team IPX – the team that’s supposed to pride itself on being organised and being able to follow a simple process. Lets see some of that please.

Ok so it looks like we’ve got 5. I’m sure the numbers different to what it says above in the table above, and I guess that’s my point. When done right, this is easy to organise. Keep the info in one place (the table) and you make it easy for the organiser. Put it all over the place and it’s difficult for everyone. Sorry for being an ass about this, but things get disorganised when this kind of thing is left unchecked for too long. My fault for not yelling about it more, but hopefully this brings it to everyones attention. I know from time to time some of us try to get these things under control, but everyone (myself included) give up because it’s too hard. If we keep at it, it will all flow nicely.
Perhaps someone even wants to create an issue to update the processes on these so they aren’t year old work in progress pages. (Happy to help with that, would like to see someone take the initiative and create the issue though).
The process pages are here and here – although I’m sure you all know that because you’ve read through the different sections of our website and keep up to date with changes, right :)
To a certain extent new members can be excused for not knowing some of these things as our induction process is still a work in progress – see 1, but a lot of it is already documented on the website which it’s expected members keep up to date with. But yes ideally as part of induction it should be clear exactly what is required reading. That’s something we’ll work on as part of the above issue. As usual, help there is encouraged and much appreciated.
GL with the game (that’s already underway, but I swear it wasn’t when I started this post). I’m off to bed – early mornings are a b!tch, but once you’re up it’s the best part of the day.

A bit of a mess
Sorry guys it ended up a bit of a mess,
I did the challenge and created the challenge page, everything I did was on same post but I think because I had to unexpectedly go away someone else jumped in and created another.
It was my first try at a challenge and I wasn’t so sure on what I was doing and I was trying to get organised to run off to Vic, sorry Fuzz if this particular challenge ended up such a mess. I will make sure it is all done properly next time I am not expecting to rush off on a plane anywhere in a hurry again.
Thankfully in the end we ended up with a full team but sadly we lost. I was a bit disappointed in the end that we didn’t use the strats that I had spent hours working on, during the game I thought that they would most likely have worked considering the strats ADA were using but it wasn’t to be.

No worries Rayne. I’m not trying to point the finger at anyone in particular, so don’t feel singled out. Would just like to see us keep it organised to make it easy for ourselves, and minimise the amount of fix up work that generally falls on the few.
