Reading up on this more, I found the reason many wireless mouses are out of favour for gaming is because the power saving features can lower performance.
Refresh rate is pushed way down, most especially on those mice designed for laptop computing — like mine is. Also they go into “microsleeps” even if it’s only a second that you don’t use it for and take some time (0.2s or something) to wake up again, causing some jerkiness.
Makes sense: two standard AA batteries last for about 1 year on this logitech, so they must be cutting corners somewhere or other to make that happen.
