Revision of Trek 1 - Valley Heights from Sat, 08/09/2007 - 14:45
Introduction
This trek was hatched while at work. During our regular daily email debates Fuzz mentioned a creek / pool in Warrimoo he had gone to as a kid with a friend “Mr T”. A few years later he heard a kid was murdered and his body was found near that creek in Warrimoo! Sha8doW disagreed on the basis that he’d never heard of it before. Kazashi and Kazozza agreed with Fuzz but they too were sketchy on details. Fuzz did some investigating and found some newspaper articles about a St Marys teenager whose body was discovered by bush walkers in 1992 on a track on the border between Valley Heights and Warrimoo. The newspaper article was detailing that police were calling for anyone with information to come forward as the murder was still unsolved. IPX was touched by the tragic tale and decided to do their own investigations. IPX created a detailed dossier on the crime and planned a trek in order to gather further details and clarify some conflicting newspaper article facts.
Trek
Due to Fuzz’s poor memory of his previous visits to the pool the team went off some sketchy details from “Mr T“who had been to the creek in the last year with Mrs T. Mr T gave the team some rough directions and the entrance location.

The team assembled at Kazashi’s quarters at 6am, 2nd September, 2006 and consisted of Fuzz, Kazashi, Kazzozza and Sha8doW. After a brief drive, the Sha8doW mobile was parked on Greens parade, Valley Heights, and the team descended into the fire trail.
Team IPX came to the spot that Mr T mentioned on the map but, there was no pool in sight. It was noted on the decent into the valley that there was not a lot of water about. The team was concerned. The Team decided to split into 2 groups and search the area. Shortly after Sha8doW found the Pool and the team investigated.
The mysterious pool!
Sha8doW saw something in the above 2 photos… can you?
The Team continued along the fire trail and Sha8doW pointed out some possible points of interest. To locate the exit of the fire trail, the team needed to located 2 sets of overhead power-lines. It took some great map work from Kazashi to point out that the Team had missed the 1st set on the decent and he plotted a course out of the valley. The exit journey terrain was mush more friendly and an abandoned car was located.
The Abandoned Car
Team IPX exited the trek at around 8:00, and decided to put the Sha8dW mobile to the test on Greens Road. After bottoming out a couple of times it was decided to turn back and return at a later date with a 4WD.
The Team retired to Blaxland McDonald’s to recap over Breakfast.
Conclusion
Team IPX learn’t some valuable lessons while on this trek, Kazozza made the decision to update the IPX GPS system. Kazashi and Fuzz pointed out that it was very possible, considering the car that was located, that the murder could have taken place elsewhere and the body transported in the boot of a car to the disposal point.
Sha8doW enjoyed his Breakfast…
Team IPX retired back to Kazashi’s quarters where Trek 2 started.
Yes, we did play too much Police Quest!
Comments
I lived there
The waterhole was common to local kids but we were all banned from going there when this happened. The dudes name was Adam as far as I remember. Mum told me that someone must have made him walk to the hole then killed him there but I am sure they found some evidence that he was killed elsewhere
Adam
Yep Adam was his name. Can’t believe that’s still unsolved.
In the news articles we read it was fairly widely reported that he was killed elsewhere and taken down there to be buried. Not sure how they knew that though. Speaking of murder / attempted murder in the Warrimoo / Valley Heights area – the guy who attempted to murder that girl on Florabella pass was caught today in St Mary’s…. the same place Adam was from. Shad pointed this “coincidence” out to me today.
Fuzz.
Adam
I am the person who found Adam if you who like to talk call me on 0438511348
