My faves:
I chose Hyper/GPMG for first, and for second technician, and for third, Rocket/Oblit.
BTW if you like being an Engy, feel free to post that as your preference in your comment.
Hog
Engy for me. Second er… tie between Soldier Hyper, and maybe medic. I like a class where you have a little control over your own destiny (engy can construct / defuse objectives, medic can health everyone up including himself, and spawn host).
Honorable mention – all classes on the Strogg side. Why? Because they can all get in the Hog.
Big Gun
First – Soldier – Rocket/Obliterator
Due to my Quake days I have always liked the Rocket especially at long distance, Yes it still takes a bit of skill in long distance
without the auto lock and for that reason I still enjoy taking out running Strog from a far….
Second – Covert Ops/Infiltrator – Sniper/Rail
As I need to take a breather from the rocket I find the Sniper Rifle to be a great relaxing weapon, Also again like taking out the Strog from a far…
Third – Engineer
The above are manly due to the Weapon Choice but my third would have 2 B the Engineer, running into an objective and hacking is great fun
but also setting up trip minds has an evilness 2 it…..
n0mad
I’m the 1 with the Big Gun
My choices
1. Medic/Technician
Short answer, this is what I do best in the end.
2. GPMG/Hypernoob
Well, not really the hypernoob. But I’ve been practicing the GPMG lately and find it more fun than a barrel of monkeys.
3. Field ops
Less useful class in ladders now, but hitting a well aimed Vampire/Violator or a circled rocket attack smackdown is a good day for me.
Other option...
“Objective Whore”… whatever class the objective requires. I’m pretty sure we have a couple of them (eyballs Johnny).
Engineer. Where I come from,
Engineer.
Where I come from, Tribes II, engineers and medics are pretty much the same thing. Repair packs would repair both base assets, vehicles, and other team mates (and their armour suits.) Was always a light class too.. Needed to be quick and mobile in the field.. Anyone who would complain that I was running around in light armour doing nothing, would have no idea the only reason any of the base assets were online, and saving their asses, was because I was keeping everything running =D
I had to put down nail gun...
I think I’m the only one here who suffered enough hours to get 2000 xp with it. Although it is worth noting that I have never used this weapon since I “achieved” this ;-)
& if there was the option, I would also say objective whoring. I find I play a lot better with a guided reason, targeting an objective is the most obvious guided reason and feels a lot more natural than playing a support class for me.
Additional I have to admit that my pub time is spent favouring different classes depending on what XP I need to get another rank ;-) As such, I’ve peaked the enge at 12,000 so I rarely play that on a Pub and the same for Covert opps now. I think those would actually be my preferences in overall classes needless to say – enge then covert.
Tank
I love my tank but since i cant have it. I like t3h sniping with the sniper rifle or scoped assualt rifles. Or beings a rocket n00b :p
class
eng, sold or Fops
OBJ WHOREEE!!!!
1.) Obj Whore (Assault Rifle/Lacerator)
Avoiding gunfights if necessary (requires crazy driving/flying) , ninjaing objectives.
2.) Aggressor (Hyper/GPMG)
Defending only. =]
3.) Medic/Technician (Assault Rifle/Lacerator)
Going crazy with stroyents and med packs.
