The Survival Games: Rust knockoff, or something new?

This morning on my travels to work I stumbled upon this interesting project:

Multiplayer survival game, based on the Unity Engine. A lot of the objects look idenitical to Rust (I’m guessing because it’s built on the same engine). But they do have a few interesting concepts of their own:

- Traps – Natural disasters (meteors, earthquakes) – Weather

At the very least it can only be good competition for Rust.

Thoughts?

Cheers to DinoRump for pointing us in the direction of this one. The Stomping Land:
“The Stomping Land is a multiplayer survival game about dinosaurs. Create traps, salvage resources, form tribes.”

Jurassic Park, meets Rust! But without that pesky Spielberg controlling the storyline. You won’t survive a TRex attack by hiding in a fridge, that’s for sure.

Can’t wait for this one.

Shadow Warrior Day

Today, May 29th, 2013, is the first annual Shadow Warrior Day.

It is a day to celebrate all that is good about the classic 90’s FPS, Shadow Warrior. Made by 3d Realms using the same BUILD engine used in Duke Nukem 3D, it was an instant classic, found completely by accident by IPX Founders in their youth.

We must investigate whether it can be played on modern hardware, multiplayer. I would love to be able to have a game with any of you who have never tried it.

However… that’s not the reason for today being Shadow Warrior Day.

The reason is… there will be a NEW Shadow Warrior. It may not be the same… but it stars Lo Wang.

A little over 6 years ago today

Team IPX moved from their first web presence (a crappy wetpaint site) to teamipx.net (running on Drupal).

Only a few members remember the days before that, Chipper, Ltmon, HP, and all of the founders. Everyone else we’ve met along the way has been in the past 6 years.

Anyway… I wanted to mark the day, or close enough – it was a few days ago.

Can I get a woooooooaaah IPX? (woah Bundy style, ala Married with Children… Am showing my age now aren’t I. Did anyone get that reference?)

NBA 2K13 Team Up Mode

Good morning all,

This weekend I participated in the first NON IPX related NBA 2k13 semi organized tournament. The first was Sanga’s DUNKIT, which was awesome, and we will do again soon!

However.. I picked up a few things from our international counterparts about the weird and wonderful ways team up works. Our most common complaints were:

1) Shad / me: why are we always on opposite teams?
2) Why is it always terrible teams? Why can’t I choose the team
3) Can I control which player I get assigned?

Some of these questions I now have a bit more of an understanding of, and I’ll be collating all the info I have picked up into a page on our site for future use.

In the meantime, I’m writing this page as a request for any info, from anyone, IPX or external to add their info as a comment here.

Funny thing… when I googled Buffalo Sabres Game winners for your birthday youtube video, all I found was videos of game winners AGAINST the Sabres. I’m not gonna put one of them up on your bday… So instead I’ll put up my favorite LeBron / Cavs game winner.
